Membership of Hindu Society of South Australia (HSSA)
Being a member of Hindu Society of South Australia has many benefits. When you join the Hindu Society, you support our activities and help to maintain this important community, cultural and spiritual complex centred around the Shri Ganesha Temple.
Member Benefits
- Becoming a HSSA member is a show of support for HSSA and its works, for the Shri Ganesha Temple, and for our Hindu community. It gives you a voice in the way that the Temple and Community Cultural Centre is managed, and the events that are organised. You can attend, comment and vote at the AGM. You can be nominated for a place on the Executive Committee. You will also receive the Turiya Marga newsletter. But mostly the membership is about what you can offer, not what you will receive.
- Our members have helped us build our new Hindu Community Cultural Centre. They manage our beautiful Temple. They have provided the new lights for the car park. The glorious picture of Lord Ganesha in the new Community Cultural Hall was painted by a member. Our members help to cater for events, clean the Temple, tend the gardens, sweep the paths and weave garlands. They teach classes. They manage our social media pages and provide information on upcoming festivals, classes and programs. They liaise with the government so that temples all over Australia can bring Priests. They negotiate with Cemeteries to have final rites for Hindus. They give talks to schools on Hinduism. And so much more.
- As a member of HSSA, you can attend the free-of-charge the Spiritual, Sanskrit and Veda classes that we organise regularly.
